Here are some bears that used to be coats

MVC-196F.JPG (53567 bytes)   MVC-197F.JPG (78091 bytes)

This bear was made in honor of a husband who served in Somalia.  We used his military issue fatigues to make him an outfit and put the flag logo on his footpad.

These bears were made from my Aunt Lillians gowns.  There are three of the softest flannel.  I know Aunt Lillian loved feeling that soft fabric.  And I know she looked so grand in them.  Now the bears wear her soft gowns in their bosom.   The footpads are embroidered with "I Love You" and the date of Aunt Lillians birth and death.  Her yoke has her monogram.   I can see her smiling now as I send these bears to her daughter.  You were a grand lady Aunt Lillian.  We'll never forget you.

These little bears were made from a fleece housecoat that was given to a Mother, by her children when they were small.  She wore it for 20+ years before it was turned into four little bears to give back to the children for Valentines day.  What a nice surprise for them.

MVC-024F.JPG (88692 bytes) MVC-025F.JPG (45070 bytes) These two bears were made for a Grand Daughter from her Grandmothers coat.  I used the lining of the coat to make a vest.  The ruffles were inside the coat as well as the bows.  Made a lovely addition as pockets and tiebacks on the vest.  Buttons were also used on the vest.

This bear was a crochet afghan made by my Mother.  Before she died, she made lots and lots of crochet squares that each of us were given when we visited.  I turned two of those squares into a bear.  The bottom of the footpad has a custom Lutheran symbol.  My Father was a Lutheran Minister.  My niece had this bear made for my sister for Christmas.

MVC-609F.JPG (109540 bytes) MVC-611F.JPG (95435 bytes)MVC-612F.JPG (98565 bytes)These bears were made for my nephews and nieces after their Father died.  Their Father always wore a flannel shirt so it was fitting to make bears from his shirts.  His neckties are around their necks.

These are the three little bears that were made from someone's Mother's mink coat and dressed in their Fathers sweaters.  The one on the right didn't have quite enough fur to make the body, so I used the sweater to shape the body as well as his vest.  In the center I added the monogram from the inside of the coat.  Notice the little bear on the left.  The sweater has the Fathers initials embroidered on the left side.  These three little bears live in Mechanicsburg, PA
